Invitations

Invitations are URLs and/or QR codes that your contacts will use to install your card. Invitations are also one of the most critical decisions you’re going to make when building cards. In fact, how you invite your members can dramatically impact the functionalities you have at your disposal when pushing notifications and updating designs. Think of our three invite types as a sort of “spectrum,” where on one side (Anonymous), you can easily build/disseminate your card and get lots of frictionless installs, whereas on the other side (Individual), you have to preemptively gather your contacts’ information, disseminate personalized links to those people, and carefully manage field-merges. In the product, these invites are described as follows:

Anonymous

This invitation is a public link or QR code that can be posted anywhere. Contacts click the to install the card without any authentication required.

Authenticated

A link click will lead to a sign up form. Two factor authentication can be required to validate a phone number provided before allowing the card to be saved to the wallet.

Individual

A personalized link will be created for distinct contacts. These links can be merged into your outgoing email system or sent via text message.
