Election Frenzy - Quick Tips
The upcoming election will be extremely busy. We understand that our political and advocacy customers are under tight deadlines and considerable pressure.
The recommendations below will ensure best results:
Set notification settings for broadcast status changes as well as set carrier rejection settings
Upload lists, scrub, and either schedule your broadcasts or create them in a paused state a day or two before if possible.
It is best practice to end every outgoing message with “Reply STOP to opt out.” If you fail to include this language, the carriers may block more aggressively. This is important for both SMS and MMS messages.
If you are using P2P confirms - have your team confirm your texts as far in advance as you can.
If you are scheduling broadcasts, choose an “offset” time instead of starting sends on the top or bottom of hour. Starting a broadcast at 9:16am is better than starting it at 9:00am.
Expect MMS delivery delays of 15-30 minutes as the pipes get clogged upstream – especially on election day.
Be sure to have an SMS backup plan to MMS if possible to get your message out!
